POLYTECH School District operates a comprehensive countywide vocational-academic high school in Woodside, Delaware, serving Kent County students in grades 9–12. Eighth graders apply during the open Delaware School Choice window. Admissions criteria include academic performance, school attendance, and conduct records; a lottery distributes ninth-grade seats when applications exceed capacity, with eligible siblings and children of current school board members or full-time district employees exempt from the lottery and granted automatic acceptance.
Freshmen participate in technical exploratory rotations before selecting their permanent career pathway during the fourth marking period. Career majors span fields such as welding, dental assisting, culinary arts, and computer engineering technology. Transfer applicants for grades 10–12 are evaluated based on seat availability in the requested technical major rather than the freshman lottery. All transfer applicants submit their latest report card; applicants for grades 11–12 also provide a transcript of all high school coursework. Passing grades in all academic areas remain an admission requirement.
