New Castle County Vocational-Technical School District
New Castle County Vocational-Technical School District provides specialized career and technical high school education across four campuses: Delcastle, Hodgson, Howard, and St. Georges. Delaware eighth graders apply for ninth-grade admission through the state school-choice system. Tenth-grade transfer applicants and students pursuing the Diploma of Alternate Achievement Standards use distinct application pathways.
During freshman year, students rotate through exploratory career and technical workshops before declaring a specialized pathway for grades 10–12. Program offerings vary by campus and span fields such as electrical trades, nursing technology, and cybersecurity. Eligible upperclassmen can enter paid cooperative education (co-op) placements in their trade area starting in the spring or summer prior to senior year, earning competitive wages and high school graduation credit simultaneously based on academic and attendance standing.
